It can be found in the centre of the city at Petychaki square. It was built in 1626. The water runs from three lion heads into three basins.
It is one of the most important and historic monasteries of Crete. It is located 23 km away from the city of Rethymno. It was established during the 5th century. UNESCO has recognized the monastery as a European Monument of Freedom because of this event.

Argyroupoli village is located 21 km away from Rethymnon town. It is
a traditional village very famous for its springs. It has small waterfalls and small springs. There are a
lot of restaurants serving very tasty traditional food.
Margarites village is located 27 km from Rethymno town. It is a
traditional village known for its pottery centre. It is well worth the visit, you can take pottery classes
and buy traditional souvenirs.
The car rental price while renting a car in Rethymno includes an all inclusive insurance package with ZERO excess. The insurance is not valid when violating the traffic laws and when not compiling with the rental terms and conditions. Please note that the underbody of car, glasses and tires are not covered in any case.

The best way to explore Rethymno is by renting a car. There are many attractions, beaches and places of interest that are around the city of Rethymno.

At the port near the Fortress, at the marina and at the parking area near the public garden in the city center. You can generally find parking spots all over the city. The old town streets are allowed to pedestrians only therefore you would have to park around the old town.
There are no self-service gas stations in Rethymno, consequently you will have to make sure you have refueled your vehicle within the working hours of the gas stations which are 07:00am until 21:00.
Rethymno has many one way streets where all vehicles move in one direction. Please drive carefully and check that you are driving on the right side of the road and on the correct direction. For example Moatsou street and Koundourioti avenue are one way streets.
