Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos
Located in the city centre at 41 Konstantinou Palaiologou street exhibits archaeological findings from the region of eastern Crete. Opening hours 08:00-15:00.
The Folklore Museum
Exhibits woven textiles, embroideries, handicrafts and a model of an old traditional Cretan house. You will see old photographs, paintings and costumes. Overlooking the lake, at Kondylaki 2. Opening hours: 10:00-14:00 Closed Monday.
Elounda
It is a small coastal town, located 10 km from Agios Nikolaos. When driving to Elounda you will Enjoy the fine views of the Mirabello gulf and a small harbor. Elounda is known worldwide for being home of the most luxurious and exclusive resorts in Crete.
Plaka village
Located 15 km from Agios Nikolaos is right after Elounda. You can drive to the traditional village and enjoy a meal at the fish taverns and cafes by the waterfront, with Spinalonga in view.
Spinalonga
It is located opposite the village of Plaka, it is only accessible by boat. There are many tourist boats that will take you to the small uninhabited island. All you have to do is park your car at the parking area in Plaka and purchase your ticket from the counter. The trip only lasts a few hours.
